Developing Young Yogis: Age-Group Deep Dive

Our yoga curriculum grows alongside your child, honoring developmental stages while building skills in movement, breath, and mindfulness. 

Infants (0-18 months): Gentle Connection

Caregivers gently move infants' arms and legs in stretching movements during diaper changes, singing softly . Rocking, swaying, and gentle massage calm the nervous system and build the foundation for body awareness. Infants learn that movement and touch are sources of comfort and connection.

Toddlers (18-36 months): Moving with Joy

Toddlers are natural data collectors. We guide this energy by providing opportunities to gather natural items, compare them, and observe living things like worms and plants. These activities build the vocabulary and observational skills critical for later science learning.

Pre-Schoolers (3-4 years): Stories in Motion

A session becomes a journey through the jungle, with children becoming monkeys, snakes, and lions along the way. Teachers weave poses into stories, holding children's attention while building strength and flexibility. Simple breathing exercises introduce the idea that breath can help us calm down.

Early Pre-K (4-5 years): Building Skills and Awareness

Four-year-olds are ready for more intentional practice. They can hold poses longer and flow between two or three with teacher guidance. Breathing tools make breathing visible and engaging. Children check in with their feelings before and after practice, building emotional vocabulary.

Pre-K (Kindergarten Readiness): Mindfulness in Action

Our oldest learners know several poses and can lead peers through simple sequences. They understand that different breaths serve different purposes: energizing breaths for sluggish moments, calming breaths for big feelings. Mindfulness games build attention and focus.
